Prop firm risk score
How much there is to watch out for with each firm, from 0 (little) to 100 (a lot). It is not a rating of the offer and not advice: it sums up public facts, and every number comes from the method below.
- Low risk · 0–19
- Moderate risk · 20–44
- High risk · 45–69
- Very high risk · 70–100
All firms by score
No firm has a published score yet: the assessments are in progress.
Awaiting assessment (19)
We publish a score once a firm's payout record or ownership has been assessed: age, rule changes and incidents alone would make almost any firm look safe. Each firm's page already shows the factors we know.
The method
Five factors add up to at most 100 risk points. When we don't know a factor yet, we leave it out and scale the score to the factors we know, so a gap neither punishes nor flatters a firm. The page shows how many factors each score rests on.
Time in business
up to 25 ptsMost firms that close do so in their first years. Under 1 year: 25 pts; 1–2 years: 18; 2–3 years: 12; 3–5 years: 6; 5 years or more: 0.
Payout record
up to 30 ptsEvidence that the firm pays its traders. Proven (3+ years in business, with payouts shown by an independent tracker, on-chain data, the financial press or a proof issued for every payout): 0 pts; some evidence (younger firm, or only the firm's own or sponsored figures): 12; none found: 22; payout denials or long delays documented by an independent source: 30.
Rule changes (12 months)
up to 15 ptsDays on which the firm's rules or payout terms changed in the last 12 months, from our changelog (several changes on one day count once). None: 0 pts; 1–2: 5; 3–5: 10; 6 or more: 15.
Ownership transparency
up to 15 ptsWhether the people behind the firm are known. Founders or CEO named publicly and consistently: 0 pts; conflicting or incomplete reports: 7; nobody named: 15.
Incidents (24 months)
up to 15 ptsDated, sourced events that hurt traders in the last 24 months: payout delays, retroactive rule changes, loss of a trading platform… Minor: 5 pts; major: 10; critical: 15; capped at 15.
Levels: under 20 is low, 20–44 moderate, 45–69 high, 70 and above very high. A paused firm is at least high. Closed and banned firms get no score: they are in the archive.
Limits: the score only reflects public facts and our changelog, which starts on 24 October 2026. It says nothing about whether a challenge suits you. Firms can write to us to correct a fact, with a source.
